A collection of ao dai (traditional long dresses) designed by Tran Phuong Hoa was showcased by overseas Vietnamese models to promote investment, trade, and tourism between Viet Nam and northeast Thailand. The collection beautifully encapsulates Vietnamese culture with its intricate hand embroidery and detailed handcrafted embellishments.

These events took place on March 29-30, 2025, as part of the Spring Homeland 2025 programme, a significant cultural and political gathering that blends economic diplomacy. The Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, the Thai-Vietnamese Business Association, and local authorities co-organized the activities. Nearly 600 attendees participated, including Vietnamese Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh, Sanan Angubolkul, President of the Thai-Vietnamese Friendship Association, Khon Kaen Deputy Governor Siriwat Pinijipanich, and leaders from several provinces in northeast Thailand.

As part of the program, delegates visited several key locations, including the Ho Chi Minh President Memorial Site, Vietnam Street, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Khanh An Vietnamese Language School, while also meeting with the Vietnamese Association in the region. The Spring Homeland 2025 programme, themed “Overseas Vietnamese Accompanying the Country in the New Era,” aims to celebrate the cultural values, progress, and achievements of Vietnam, as well as the development of the overseas Vietnamese community. The highlight of the event was an art performance in Khon Kaen Province on March 30, featuring songs that celebrate the nation, honor President Ho Chi Minh, and promote patriotism and unity. The event also raised nearly VND400 million (US$17,400) to support the preservation of the Ho Chi Minh President Memorial Site and One Pillar Pagoda, as well as to aid Vietnamese language teachers at Khanh An School.

Northeast Thailand, which includes 20 provinces and a population of over 20 million people, is a vital economic hub. Around 100,000 overseas Vietnamese live in the region, which is home to the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site and Memorial Area. These sites were established through contributions from the local Vietnamese community to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary efforts.
