Since achieving our first Travelife certification in 2015, EXO Travel has based its sustainability agenda on its requirements, which are officially accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Meeting the highest standards in the industry, this certification is a great recognition of our sustainability efforts.
In 2018, we completed four Travelife audits, with Indonesia becoming our 6th certified destination. It is our hope and expectation that 2019 will see the addition of two moreTravelife-certified EXO destinations: Malaysia and Japan.
We are constantly developing solutions to ensure a greater positive impact on the destinations that we operate in. Some examples include an initiative to tackle plastic waste, further commitments to our ambitious carbon offsetting program
and a new responsible travel rating system empowering agents to choose responsible experiences & short tours. Our team of dedicated sustainability coordinators help to ensure the full adoption of our Responsible Travel Policy across both our company and our supply chain.
