The Mastercard-CrescentRating Digital Muslim Travel Report 2018 (DMTR2018) reveals deep and comprehensive insights on the influence of digital technologies in the Muslim travel space. Specifically, the report looks at the online behavior of Muslim travelers on their trip planning and travel purchase decisions. The research projects that the overall online travel purchase of Muslim travelers to reach USD$180 billion by 2026.
The DMTR2018 is the first comprehensive report looking at the online travel patterns and attitudes of Muslim travelers across different demographic groups. Four generational segments were examined and five clusters of Muslim Outbound Markets were identified. The report also includes an in-depth analysis of the online shopping behavior in Malaysia and Indonesia – two Muslim Majority Countries.
