Water Splashing Festival, Yunnan, China

Celebrated by the Dai ethnic community in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, this vibrant New Year festival features ceremonial Buddha bathing, dragon boat races, lantern releases, and joyful water splashing that symbolises washing away misfortune and welcoming prosperity for the year ahead.
