Benzhu Festival at Zhoucheng and Shuanglang, Yunnan, China

In the folklore of Dali region, every village is protected by a god called benzhu. During the Benzhu Festival (Benzhujie) at Shuanglang ,villagers will devoutly take down the benzhu statue from its temple, bring it on a wood boat to town, and return it back after the worship rituals.
The celebrations at Zhoucheng (til) are more thorough, where the statue will be invited down to a public stage and be entertained with local opera for as long as three days.
