He also announced plans to lead a Cambodian delegation to Beijing on June 4 to officially launch the visa exemption programme and encouraged continued collaboration between Cambodian and Chinese private sector stakeholders in promoting tourism growth.
To support increased arrivals, Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration is preparing to deploy Smart Gates at Techo International Airport and Siem Reap Angkor International Airport to facilitate faster and more convenient entry procedures for travellers.
At the same time, Hak emphasised that Cambodia remains a safe and welcoming tourism destination, with strong security measures in place for both international tourists and investors. He reiterated the government’s firm commitment to combatting online scams through a Zero Online Scam Policy, strengthened cybercrime legislation, and nationwide enforcement operations.
Regarding service quality, he also highlighted the implementation of the “China Ready” mechanism, through which tourism businesses are assessed and certified to ensure high standards of service, convenience, and trust for Chinese visitors.
The Cambodia Tourism Marketplace 2026 (CTM 2026 Mini-Series) is organised through a partnership between the ministry , the Cambodia Tourism Federation, and the Pacific Asia Travel Association Cambodia Chapter.
