Cambodia Angkor Air expands routes

Cambodia Angkor Air has confirmed it will launch a new service linking Sihanoukville on Cambodia’s southern coast and Guangzhou in China.

The new service according to timetable information provided by Airlineroute will launch 29 October.

Flying an Airbus A320 the airline will offer a  three-weekly service on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

The fight will depart Sihanoukville at 0835 and will arrive in Guangzhou at 1235.  The return flight will depart from Guangzhou in 1345 and will arrive in Sihanoukville at 1545.

Earlier this week, the airline confirmed it would soon launch direct flight to Danang offering first ever flight from Phnom Penh to Danang.

An agreement was signed in Hanoi last week during the visit of Mao Havannal, Cambodia’s Minister in Charge of State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) and  Dinh Viet Thang, director general of Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

According to the SSCA press release, the airline will fly the route with a stop in Vientiane in Laos. However, this has not been confirmed by the airline and industry experts suggest a direct flight would be more feasible for the airline than a costly diversion to Vientiane.
