Taninthayi approves 15 new hotel projects expanding tourism services

Efforts are also focused on enhancing tourism services in specific areas: Dawei for domestic travellers, Myeik for both domestic and Thai tourists, and Kawthoung for international visitors

The Taninthayi Region Tourism Committee, during its 5/2024 Coordination Meeting, announced the approval of pre-construction permits for 15 hotel projects, along with new licences for 14 hotels and several guesthouses in the region.

Since its inception, the committee has held 16 coordination meetings to facilitate the systematic development of the hotel and tourism sector in key destinations. These meetings have led to the approval of 15 new hotel project proposals, 14 new hotel licences, 3 new guesthouse licences, 25 new tour operator licences, three new tour guide licences, 55 regional tour guide licences, 38 hotel licence renewals, eight guesthouse licence renewals, 32 tour operator licence renewals, and 82 regional tour guide licence renewals.

Efforts are also focused on enhancing tourism services in specific areas: Dawei for domestic travellers, Myeik for both domestic and Thai tourists, and Kawthoung for international visitors. In addition, the committee is working on developing new tourist routes across the Taninthayi Region to expand its appeal.
