With international and domestic travel heavily restricted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Southeast Asia (SEA) is projected to be one of the most heavily hit regions, given the importance of tourism to many SEA economies.

To rejuvenate tourism in SEA, governments will need to develop flexible policies to balance public health and economic needs. Join us in this webinar to learn about opportunities to reconfigure and reposition the tourism sector for sustainable growth and differentiation.

Jessica Shannon
Global Government and Public Sector Leader, PwC Ghana

Jessica leads PwC’s Global Government & Public Services Practice, to support governments, multilateral organisations, and other public service entities. She also serves as the firm’s lead partner for the World Bank Group, overseeing teams across more than 40 countries who are supporting governments to implement WBG financed initiatives ranging from public financial management to infrastructure and public-private partnerships.

Steven Schipani
Principal Tourism Specialist (South East Asia), Asian Development Bank

Steven is ADB’s principal tourism specialist covering Southeast Asia. In this role, he works closely with the government, the private sector, and other development partners to develop and implement sustainable, inclusive and resilient tourism projects and policies. He has also managed ADB’s diverse public investment portfolios in Viet Nam, Thailand, and the Lao PDR.

Liz Ortiguera
CEO, Pacific Asia Travel Association

Liz is a senior executive with over 25 years of global experience and expertise in general management, marketing, business development, and partner network management. Liz is passionate about innovation, business transformation, and community building. Her career spans several industries – travel/lifestyle, technology, financial services, and pharmaceuticals. She’s experienced in working in both MNC (American Express and Merck) and startup environments (SaaS, e-commerce, and ed-tech).

Pieter van de Mheen
Partner, PwC Indonesia Consulting

Pieter is a partner at PwC Indonesia Consulting, with over 20 years experience across logistics, shipping, consumer & retail and other industries. He leads PwC’s procurement, supply chain management and process improvement services in Indonesia and across South East Asia, and has also led projects in Europe, the US, Middle East and Asia. Pieter has led large turn around projects with respect to organization, processes and systems both with public and private companies, including recent logistics and distribution exercises relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.
