Phnom Penh-Da Nang direct flight scheduled for October

Cambodia Angkor Air, the national flag carrier, has targeted late October to launch direct flights between Phnom Penh and Da Nang, in central Vietnam.

The announcement was made after a meeting on Thursday between Ministry of Tourism and Cambodia Angkor Air, represented by the company’s CEO Hoang Manh Tuan.

Mr Hoang said the company sought the support from the ministry for the launching of direct flights between the two cities which will take off on 27th of October.

Phnom Penh will become the second route of Cambodia Angkor Air connecting  Da Nang after Siem Reap, home to the world heritage  Angkor archaeological park.

Tourism Minister Thong Khon, welcomed the move and hailed Da Nang as one of  Vietnam’s largest tourism destination.

“The direct flight will help boost tourism to Cambodia, thanks to foreign tourists visiting Da Nang, they can now board a plane and travel directly to Phnom Penh,” he said.
