Travel Experience
The Tribal Crafts Fair Trade offers and sales wide range of handicrafts which helps to restore and revive traditions of tribal community life. Currently, seven hill tribes - also known as tribal people or highland people, of Northern Thailand namely the Akha, Hmong, Karen, Lahu, Lawa, Lisu and Mien groups, as well as many tribal women living in Chiang Mai are working together in this fair trade journey.
Responsibility
The Tribal Crafts Fair Trade aims to eradicate poverty and provide sustainable development opportunities for the tribal people of northern Thailand so that they have better life and enable them to access their full potential in society.
Business Case
The main 5 missions of the organisation are to operate as a non profit marketing agency of tribal crafts both in Thailand and internationally, treating both producers and customers with the values of a Fair Trade Organization, to improve the economic status of tribal communities in Thailand, to practice fair trade and to show justice, and to help preserve the traditional crafts of tribal communities.
