Travel Experience
53 years ago, our grandparents bought some land along the Ta-Chine river in Nakorn Pathom province. The land was developed into a renowned tourist destination (Sampran Riverside). Across the river from the property lies our organic farm certified to IFOAM, EU and Canada standards where we grow herbs, fruits and vegetables. Combining traditional wisdom and modern methods, raw materials from either our certified organic farm or from a network of local organic farmers supported by Bliss Foundation are turned into organic body care products and traditional Thai delicacies under our concept of organic living.
Responsibility
Patom means the beginning or first. We start from the very beginning by working closely with Bliss foundation to get high quality organic raw materials. Also, raw materials are grown by local organic farmers in Nakhon Pathom who are supported by BLISS Foundation. Bliss Foundation collaborates with universities, government agencies and the private sector to drive organic agriculture in Nakorn Patom and neighbouring provinces under the ‘Sampran Model’. The movement started 6 years ago at Sampran Riverside (สวนสามพราน), with funding support from ThalandResearch Fund (สกว) and Thai Health Promotion Foundation (สสส). At present, there are over 130 families of organic farmers devided into 11 groups producing rice, vegetables and fruits under Sookjai Organics PGS (Participatory Guarantee System).
Business Case
Patom’s products are sold at our Organic Living Store in Bangkok under our concept of organic Living. 3% of sales is donated to BLISS Foundation which supports the development of organic value chain in Nakorn Pathom and neighbouring provinces.
