Kampot International Port, key magnet to attract tourists

Cambodia’s Kampot International Tourism Port will become a key magnet to attract more tourists to the country.

The note was underlined by Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism when inspecting the construction site of the port with Kampot provincial leaders at Teuk Chhou district of Kampot province recently.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the construction of the Kampot International Port began on Aug. 8, 2018 and has now achieved approximately 84 percent, and the passenger building construction has completed about 73 percent.

The port construction is expected to complete at the end of 2021, continued the source.

The construction of Kampot International Tourism Port is an ADB’s financing, which is part of tourism infrastructure development project for inclusive growth in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).

This international habour will become a key international marine entrance connecting the country’s southern coastal part and Kampot province to the world.
