Description: SThe Old Theatre Inn is a registered heritage property originally built as a theatre temple in 1780 and later used as a village school. In 2008 the Swiss Govt. funded restoration of the original theatre temple building as part of the Shaxi Restoration Project, which eventually included the entire area of Sideng Square. In 2012, an American designer partnered with the local teacher to make the rooms more comfortable and market them to international travelers. They renamed the property Old Theatre Inn. In its renovated classrooms, it now offers five luxurious guestrooms with slate stone bathrooms, rain shower, down pillows, solar hot water radiant heated walls and antique tribal embroidery art.
