Makha Bucha Day (Thailand), Meak Bochea Day (Cambodia), and Maka Busa Day (Lao PDR)

On this full moon day, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos honor the gathering of 1,250 monks to hear the Buddha’s teachings. Devotees in all three countries visit temples, make merit, and join candlelit processions known as Wien Tien to reflect on the Buddha’s teachings and their spiritual significance.
