The major provincial attraction now features a new park for visitors who gather each evening to witness millions of bats emerge from the caves, with local transport available to the hilltop for sweeping views.

Hundreds of foreign tourists recently gathered at Phnom Sampouv in Battambang province to witness the evening spectacle of millions of bats emerging from the caves to hunt for food around 5:30 PM.
Situated just 12 kilometers from Battambang town, the site is a major attraction, now featuring a new park built around Khmer New Year in April for visitors to explore before the main event. Local vendors provide street food like beef sticks and meatballs. For a panoramic view, local pickup trucks offer transportation to the hilltop for 10,000 Riels (about $2.50).
