Hundreds of foreign tourists recently gathered at Phnom Sampouv in Battambang province to witness the evening spectacle of millions of bats emerging from the caves to hunt for food around 5:30 PM.

Situated just 12 kilometers from Battambang town, the site is a major attraction, now featuring a new park built around Khmer New Year in April for visitors to explore before the main event. Local vendors provide street food like beef sticks and meatballs. For a panoramic view, local pickup trucks offer transportation to the hilltop for 10,000 Riels (about $2.50).
