MTCO Co-organizes the GMS Tourism Working Group and Board Meeting in Viet Nam

The 50th Meeting of the GMS Tourism Working Group (TWG-50), the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) Board Meeting and the Asian Development Bank’s Tourism Infrastructure for Tourism (ADB TIIG) Project Meeting were held on October 10-11, 2022 in Quang Nam, Viet Nam. The meetings were co-organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO), and attended by representatives of the National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) of the six GMS countries (Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam), MTCO, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), ASEAN-Japan Center.

The Meeting discussed on the GMS Member Countries’ tourism status, possible joint collaboration projects, the progress of the ADB TIIG Projects and future work plan including the public-private partnership to drive GMS tourism development. Besides, the Meeting acknowledged and appreciated the Tourism Forecast presentation done by PATA Special Advisor, Mr John Koldowski.
