A mobile Thai cabinet meeting in Udon Thani on 22 February proposed to build a fifth Mekong bridge to Laos between Thailand’s northeastern Bung Kan Province and Pakxan in central Laos’ Bholikhamxay Province.
The suggestion to build the 1.5-kilometre, 1.5-billion-baht bridge came from Bung Kan businesses, and could help boost tourism and trade between the two provinces, the Bangkok Post reported.
